Our Founder Barbara Horn, is a native of San Antonio, Texas. She began her music career on 2005 at "Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza", a Music and Dance University in Monterrey, Mexico. She studied classical voice and piano for three years. After that she transferred to University of Texas at San Antonio where she studied Piano, Organ, Voice and Harpsichord for the next four years and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in May 2012.
Barbara has studied music for eleven years with highly renowned teachers including Mauricio Garza-Salazar, Carlos Guzman, Fernando Davil, Teresa Tamez, Mirthala Salazar, Cristina Velazco, Graciela Suarez, Dr. Gary Mabry, Dr. Susanne Olson, Dr. David Eaton, Dr. Kassandra Keeling, Dr. Brent Watkins, Professor Sophia Gilmson and Dr. David Heller. She has been studying organ for four years since her graduation with concert organist Dr. David Heller from Trinity University. She has taught piano and voice for seven years at several music academies and privately. She has previously worked at Alamo Music Center teaching piano and voice and is currently teaching at her own studio, Piano Stone Oak.
Besides teaching, she enjoys playing organ and piano and practices at Travis Park United Methodist Church. She also likes playing for church services and is available as an organ substitute. On her free time, when not practicing organ, piano or harpsichord, she likes to swim, walk her dog, go to the mall, listen to jazz music, read, cook, dine out, travel and spend time with her friends and family.
